There are many benefits to making a Sams Club credit card payment. The program is available to individuals as well as business entities. The payment cards are linked to membership cards.

In addition to cards issued for in-store credit purchases, the superstore offers Sam’s Club Discover cards. These are issued in place of membership cards. They can be used at any store that accepts Discover. Members of the Advantage and Business programs are eligible to receive cash awards equivalent to one percent of all purchases made with Discover. Members of the Advantage Plus and Business Plus programs are eligible to receive cash awards which are equal to two percent of their purchases.

At Sam’s Club locations, a variety of payment options are available. Among them are personal checks, cash, debit cards, Sam’s Club and Wal-mart gift and credit cards, Discover and MasterCard. American Express and Visa credit cards are not accepted in the stores due to their relatively high merchant fees. However, at the store’s online website, Discover, American Express, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. All membership fees are fully-refundable at any time if a member decides to terminate her or his participation in the program.

In order to make purchases at the mega-store, memberships are required. Annual memberships can be purchased in the stores or online. Renewals can be purchased online, at any register within the store, at the in-store membership service desks, and at the new ATM-Membership kiosks, which are available at select locations.

There are a few exceptions to the members-only purchasing restrictions. Non-members may make purchases at the store’s cafes, as well as at their pharmacies and optical centers. Federal laws prohibit rules excluding non-members from purchasing prescription medications. In some states, laws also allow gasoline and liquor purchases by non-members.

Day-passes to the superstore are published in Wal-mart ads across the United States. These allow visitors to shop in the stores. However, ten percent surcharges are added to all purchases made by non-members.

The first Sam’s Club was opened in Midwest City, Oklahoma on April 7, 1983. The membership-based retail warehouse chain is owned and operated by Wal-mart. It is named in honor of Wal-mart founder, Sam Walton. This store carries a wide range of products, including food, clothing, flowers, electronics, crystal and collectibles, sunglasses, tires, prescription glasses and medications and designer merchandise.

As of January 2009, the massive organization was operating 602 retail warehouses across much of the United States, including the territory of Puerto Rico. The only states without this superstore are Vermont, Rhode Island and Oregon. Its nation-wide membership includes about 47 million people. Outside the United States, the store is operated in Mexico, China and Brazil.

The sizes of the mega-stores generally range from about 70-thousand to 190-thousand square feet. The average area of these warehouse sites is about 133-thousand square feet. These locations are among the most numerous and large warehouse superstore chains in the country. The company’s annual sales revenue is the second highest among warehouse clubs.

Sams Club credit card payment options can be very convenient. In addition, cash awards and rebates are available to members who join the store’s Discover card program.
